The even newer addition! This is Sunny, the new filly out of Dusty. Yaaaayy palamino :) She is a real sweetheart, very friendly. Dusty seems to throw really good foals. I walked in the pen to see her and she just walked right up and stuck her nose into my palm. She would suck my fingers, and if I knelt down, she'd stick her nose in my face and give me kisses xD. I think a little bit of the difference between the two fillies has to do with the mares, because Dusty seems to know we aren't going to hurt her baby, so she just lets us touch her. Susie on the other hand constantly tries to keep inbetween us and Star, and I think that may have given an impression or something... if that makes any sense. Well, yeah. That is all. Both are beautiful healthy (very bouncy) girls :)

Awww this is such a adorable pic and no comments... first of all yay palaminos... what did her father look like? Her mother is absolutely gorgous :D I love her white stripe on her nose.... I would've expected to see a brown foal rather than a palomino but isn't that a recessive trait anyhow? It'll be interesting to see how each baby grows up haveing mothers with such different temperments.... I think this little lady will be a lot more friendly and out going, but you never know :) Great pic... I wish more people would've commented though....

The sire to both fillies was a palamino stallion named Dollar. He had a thinner white blaze and 4 white socks. So this little girl looks a lot like him, especially compared to Star. And thanks.. Dusty is a good ol' girl, I love her to death. Oh.. and don't ask me about whats recessive or dominant.. my knowledge in that department is limited, I can only guess. I expected a palamino or a chestnut out of her, but I had no idea what to expect out of Susie. And yes! I'm hoping we do get to see how each grows up, there is talk of keeping both instead of just one. It will be fun. And, it's not so much the temperament, as both are pretty laid-back horses, but I think the fact that we've had a foal out of Dusty before makes a difference, seeing as we've never had a foal out of Susie as we've had her. We've only had her for about a year however, so it's hard to tell. But yeah.. so Dusty trusts us more, whereas Susie wouldn't know? Something like that. They are both gorgeous, fun little fillies. Dusty's first filly with us, Stormy, was just like Sunny is now, so I'm starting to beleive the theory that disposition is inherited. Star will need more work.. but thats what I'm here for :) I can't wait to see them grow up. I'm excited as it is to begin basic work for breaking in my yearling, Joy.
